CFexpress card reader
One card reader for CFexpress
Type A, Type B and XQD.
Shoot with more than one camera and you carry more than one card format. The IMPÓSABLE IMP399 reads them all — eight slots, simultaneously, over a single USB-C cable.
CFexpress Type A, Type B and XQD: what is the difference?
CFexpress succeeds XQD and CompactFlash in professional cameras. It comes in two sizes: Type A is the smaller card used mainly in recent Sony bodies; Type B shares its dimensions with XQD and is found in cameras from Canon and Nikon, among others. An XQD slot and a CFexpress Type B slot are physically identical, but not every reader supports both protocols.
A separate reader per format means a separate cable, a separate port and one more device in the bag. A multi-card reader with a dedicated slot for each format solves that without adapters.
Eight slots, readable at the same time
The IMP399 has dedicated slots for CFexpress Type A, CFexpress Type B, XQD, SD (SDHC/SDXC), TF/microSD, CompactFlash, Memory Stick and xD. All slots can be read simultaneously and support hot-swap: change a card without unplugging the reader. An LED shows read and write status.
The connection is USB-C with a bandwidth of up to 10 Gb/s; a USB-C and a USB-A data cable are included, so the reader fits a modern laptop as well as an older desktop. TF/microSD cards are supported up to 2 TB.
Works without drivers
The reader is recognised by Windows 7 or later, macOS 10.6.2 or later and Linux 2.6 or later; no drivers required. Plug in, insert the card, copy. The full specifications and box contents are on the IMP399 product page.
