Most photographers carry more than one card format. A body on CFexpress, a second body on SD, a drone on microSD, an archive on CompactFlash. The IMP399 reads them all — side by side, at the same time, over a single USB-C cable.

About this product
The IMP399 is a professional 8-in-1 multi card reader: eight slots, each for its own card format, readable simultaneously, connected over USB-C with a bandwidth of up to 10 Gb/s. One reader in the bag replaces the separate readers for CFexpress, XQD, SD, microSD, CompactFlash, Memory Stick and xD.
Slots and card formats
The reader has dedicated slots for CFexpress Type A, CFexpress Type B, XQD, SD (SDHC/SDXC), TF/microSD, CompactFlash, Memory Stick and xD. TF/microSD cards are supported up to 2 TB. All slots can be read at the same time: copy a CFexpress card from one body and an SD card from the other in one go. Every slot supports hot-swap, so you change a card without unplugging the reader.
Connection and speed
The connection is USB-C with a bandwidth of up to 10 Gb/s. A USB-C and a USB-A data cable are included, so the reader fits a modern laptop as well as an older desktop. Actual transfer speed depends on the card and on the computer's USB port; 10 Gb/s is the maximum bandwidth of the interface.
Design
Flat, elongated body in grey with a black front that holds the slots (see product photo). An LED shows read and write status, so you know when a card can be removed safely. The reader is powered through the computer's USB connection; there is no separate power supply in the box.
System requirements and installation
Windows 7 or later, macOS 10.6.2 or later or Linux 2.6 or later, with a free USB-C or USB-A port. No drivers needed: plug in, insert the card, copy.
Certification
CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS; carries the WEEE symbol (dispose of separately as electronic waste). Made in China for IMPÓSABLE, Uden (the Netherlands).
